Margaret "Cricket" Pierce Street, age 73, of 336 Industrial Drive, Mountain City, Tennessee went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 7th, 2004 at the Johnson City Medical Center following a short illness. A native of Carter County, she was born September 15, 1930 to the late Henry and Mollie Phipps Pierce. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by five brothers; Fred Pierce, Roy Pierce, R.C. Pierce, R.J. Pierce and R.H. Pierce. She was of the Baptist Faith. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law; Betty and Buster Fritts of Butler, Tennessee, two sons; Teddy Street and Bobby Fletcher of Mountain City, Tennessee, three brothers; Darrell Pierce of Erwin, Tennessee, Jerry Pierce of Johnson City, Tennessee and Clarence Pierce of Wilmington, Delaware, five sisters; Lorraine Gent of Bristol, Tennessee, Sue Pierce of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, Rosetta Godsey of Joliet, Illinois, Omie Markland of Detroit, Michigan and Viola Laws of Johnson City, Tennessee, three grandchildren; Robbie Allen Fletcher of Westgrove, Pennsylvania, Brandon Allen Street of Butler, Tennessee, Kristy Lynn Fletcher of Mountain City, Tennessee, one great grandchild; Robbie Allen Fletcher Jr., several nieces and nephews and close friends Jim and Ellen Stout and Janice Wilson. Funeral Services for Margaret will be held at 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 12, 2004 from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harvey White to officiate. Family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. prior to Services. Music will be provided by Bill Smith. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2004 from the Ensor Cemetery, Stoney Creek, Tennessee. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary Pallbearer is Dr. Mohamed Shake. Friends and Pallbearers are asked to assemble at the Cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Margaret Street Memorial Fund, c/o Hux-Lipford Funeral Home, 300 W Main Street, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683. Friends may also call at the residence of daughter Betty Fritts 238 Church Street, Butler, Tennessee 37640 at anytime.
