Marilyn Ruth Baird Vaught

Marilyn Ruth Baird Vaught, age 78, of 217 Piney Ave, Piney Flats, TN passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014 in Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born September 29, 1935 to the late Byron Baird and Myra Buchanan Baird. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Edgar Vaught; brothers: Byron Dean (Denver) Baird and Charles Joseph (Jody) Baird; and a brother-in-law: Ernest (Gib) Barlow. Marilyn was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. She enjoyed antiquing, gardening and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Marilyn was a wonderful mother, "Mem" and devoted sister and friend. She was employed at Kennemetal for 22 years. Survivors include: daughters: Debra Bridwell and husband Wally; Joyce Gregg and husband Kenneth; sons: Rick Vaught and Randall Vaught; grandchildren: Toby Murph, Misty Gregg and Tommy Gregg; great grandchildren: Abby Frazier, Lane Isaacs, Andrew Murph, Eric Isaacs and Alea Murph; one great, great grandchild: Maddox Frazier; sisters: Marietta Forrester and husband Bob; Moveta Barlow and Marlene Dodgion; and one brother: Jarvis Howard (Sonny) Baird. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2014 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Dr. Gale Hartley and Mr. Kenny Ray Vaught officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. April 19, 2014 in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mike Smith, Toby Murph, Tommy Gregg, Todd Isaacs, Brian Barlow, Darrell Barlow, Dylan Frazier, Lane Isaacs and Andrew Murph. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Forrester, Trevor Russell, George Hodge and Delmar Vaught. At other times friends may call at the home of her daughter, Joyce Gregg, 499 Spear Branch Road, Mountain City, TN 37683. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CBM Ministry for Kids, Bethany Baptist Church, Mountain City, TN 37683.
