Marjorie Ann Gentry Wilson, age 85, of 369 Old Cold Springs Road, Mountain City passed away Thursday, May 24, 2007 at her residence following a brief illness. Mrs. Wilson was a native of Johnson County and was a daughter of the late Tully and Gertrude Cress Gentry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Gray Wilson who died in 1996, also a sister Gladys Phillippi. She was a Beautician and worked at Melville Shoe Company before retiring. Mrs. Wilson greatest love was to her family and Church. She was a Member of Valley View United Methodist Church where she served as pianist for many years, a member of the UMW and Vacation Bible School worker. She loved cooking and canning.

 

Survivors: include: Three daughters: Kathy Williams and husband David of Mountain City

                                                            Jill Farrow and husband Dale of Mountain City

                                                             Judy Ann Cornett and husband Randy of Damascus, Va

 

                    

                                Two sons: Sammy Gray Wilson of Mountain City

                                                  David Glen Wilson of Mountain City

 

Seven Grandchildren : Beth Clark, Dr. Charles Cornett, Laura Lowe, Calvin Williams, Jennifer Farrow, Chris Farrow and Jeremy Farrow.

Six great grandchildren: Cora Cornett, Roy Cornett, Hayley Lowe, Josh Lowe, Julia Smith and Will Smith.

One Nephew: Jimmy Phillippi

Special Friends: Lorraine Curd, Dorothy Fletcher, Pascal Grindstaff and Margie Fenner

 

Funeral services will be held 8:00 p. m. Sunday, May 27, 2007 from the Valley View United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Everhart, Rev. Patrick Kelley and Rev. Steve Phillippi ministers to officiate.

Graveside services and burial will be held 11:00 a. m. Monday, May 28, 2007 from the Phillippi Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Grandsons and Benson Price

Honorary Pallbearers will be Men of Valley View United Methodist Church, Dr. Floyd Barker, Willie DeBord and James Lefler

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p. m. Sunday from the Valley View United Methodist Church and other times friends may call at the residence, 369 Old Cold Springs Road, Mountain City at anytime.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City at anytime.
