Martha J. Madrey

Martha Joan Madrey, age 84, of 727 Eastridge Road, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away peacefully and went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at the Watauga County Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born January 4, 1925 in Piqua, Ohio. Ms. Madrey was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church. She was a retired hairdresser, and loved painting, playing the organ, driving thru the countryside and camping. Ms. Madrey also was a member of the twenty club of Jacksonville, Fl.

 

Ms. Madrey was preceded in death by her Father Leonard Hess her husband Edward Leroy Madrey, two daughters, Cassandra McMullan and Judith Kay Madrey, two sisters and two brothers.

 

Survivors include her son: Michael Madrey Mountain City, TN one sister: Freida Branson of Ohio; one brother: Eddie Hess also of Ohio. Grandson; Richard Madrey of Mountain City, TN: and six additional grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren,

8 great-great grandchildren several nieces and nephews also survive.

 

Special Friends include Malcom Howard, Frank Woods, Scott Teague, and many-many others.

 

Funeral service for Martha Joan Madrey will be held Wednesday May 6,2009

at 2:00 p.m. from the East Side Memory Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Mr. Frank Woods to officiate. Active Pallbears will be The Men of 1^st Freewill Baptist Church. Honorary Pallbears are Malcolm Howard, Bill Brookshire, John Muse, Bob Ritchie and Dr. Robert Griffith. Graveside service and interment will follow in the Gambill Springs Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
