Mary E. Jennings, age 48, of 611 Dry Run Road, Butler, TN passed away Saturday, February 21, 2009 at her residence after a battle with cancer. She was the daughter of Willie Scarborough and Bertha Beamon Scarborough. Mary was a member of Dyson Grove Baptist Church and she loved the children of the church, four-wheeling and spending time with her family.

 

Survivors include: her husband, Lindsey Jennings, Sr., of the home; two sons: Lindsey Ray Jennings, Jr. and wife Savannah, and Jeffery Daniel Jennings and wife Nichole, both of Butler, TN; four sisters: Shirley Wade and husband Curtis; Brenda Allison; Amanda Scarborough, and Janet Scarborough; one brother: Herman Scarborough; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Danielle Jennings.

 

Funeral services for Mary Ellen Jennings will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2009 from Dyson Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Leonard Fletcher officiating. Active pallbearers will be Lindsey Jennings, Jr., Jeff Jennings, Lindsey Jennings, Sr., Johnny Crowder, Walter Jennings and Butch Jennings. Honorary pallbearers will be Betty Church, Terina McWorter, Linda Fletcher, Brenda Jennings and Artanza Brewer. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2009 in Jennings Family Cemetery.

 

At other times friends may call at the residence 611 Little Dry Run Road, Butler, TN.  

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the McLeod Cancer Center, 310 N State of Franklin Road, Johnson City, TN 37615.
