Mary Jo Stout Davis passed away on March 12, 2013 in the comfort of her home with her family and loved ones by her side. She was born to the late Joe Stout and Georgia Cress Stout and she was raised in Mountain City, Tennessee. While in high school she was very active in music, sports, drama and was also the Drum Major. She had four years of voice training and sang at many weddings and funerals. She was active in her church and sang as well. She graduated from Johnson County High School in 1946 and Draughon's Business College in Knoxville, Tennessee. After graduation she modeled for Field and Stream magazine. In 1952 she married Captain J.C. Davis, US Army, who was a widower with two small children and she raised these children as her own. In 1959 Mary Jo and J.C. welcomed a new daughter. They were a very happy Army family. Their tours of duty included Williamsburg, VA, Lee Hall VA, Orleans, France, Charleston, SC, and Seoul Korea. In 1962 Major J.C. Davis and his family retired to live in Orlando, FL. Mary Jo loved flowers and had a green thumb. She could make anything grow. She enjoyed spending time with her family, grandkids, and great-grandkids whom she saw often. She said, "I leave this life with no regrets." She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Lynn Davis-Spain, and husband, Gordon of Orlando, FL.; step-daughter Margaret Davis-Cripps, and husband Col. Dennis L. Cripps of Colorado Springs, CO .; step son Lt. Col. Jerrell M. Davis, and wife Ruby of Orlando, FL.; two grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. Local survivors are her Uncle Ralph Stout and wife Margie of Mountain City She was preceded in death by her parents sister, and husband.
