Mary A. Lipford

Mary Alice Wilson Lipford, age 90, of Mountain City, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2009 in Watauga County Medical Center, Boone, North Carolina.

She was the daughter of the late James Hamilton Wilson, Sr. and Elizabeth Snyder Wilson. Mary was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church where she served as Chairperson of the Flower Fund. Her hobbies included gardening and cooking. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Lipford, and four brothers and four sisters.

 

Survivors include: one son: Jim Fink and wife Barbara of Mountain City, TN; one sister: Lucille Miller and husband Earl of Zionville, NC; one brother: Elmer Wilson and wife Janet of The Dalles, OR; one granddaughter: Holly Bartz and husband Jeremy and several nieces and nephews. Special friends Mae Johnson, Grace Osborne, Mary Dunn and many others also survive.

 

Funeral services for Mary Alice Wilson Lipford will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2009 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. David Bentley and Rev. Bruce Simcox officiating. Active pallbearers will be Buford Lipford, Gary Johnson, Keith Johnson, Larry Dunn, Norman Osborne and Donald Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Boyd Lipford, Staff of Mountain City Care Center and Dr. Whitlock. Entombment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2009 in Sunset Mausoleum.   The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.

 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributations may be made to the Walnut Grove Baptist Church, 1334 Fall Branch Road, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.
