Mary Grace Neatherly

November 3, 1917 — April 22, 2010

Mary Grace Neatherly, age 92, passed away Thursday morning, April 22, 2010, in Mountain City Care Center. She was a Johnson County native and the daughter of the late Leeland L. Neatherly and Myrtle Green Neatherly. Ms. Neatherly was a member of Vaughts Gap Baptist Church. She loved gardening and flowers, working puzzles and cooking. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Claude C. Arnold; her second husband, Ernest Neatherly; three sisters: Ruth Neatherly, Nell Miller and Mabel Wagner; and two brothers: Dean Neatherly and Roy Neatherly.

 

Survivors include: one son, Lester Arnold and wife Christine of Knoxville, Tennessee; three step grandchildren: Linda Plunk of Nashville, Tennessee, Montie Plunk of Antioch, Tennessee and Willie Plunk of Nashville, Tennessee.

 

Funeral services for Mary Grace Neatherly will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2010 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford-Teague Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Johnson officiating. Active pallbearers will be Jackie Ward, Desi Ward, Johnny Arnold, Jerry Drimon and Jeff Tester. Honorary pallbearers will be Ken and Linda Caswell. Graveside service and interment will follow in Green Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2010 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel.
