Mary Tester, age 70, of 233 Pedro Shoun Lane, Lot 62 Mountain City, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at her residence. She was born April 8,1943. She was the daughter of the late Robert Sweet and Lillian Nichols Sweet of Damascus, VA. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a daughter Sherry Rowand; also sisters: Mildred Landers and Louise Rhymer. Survivors include: one daughter Christine Gilland Jennings and Shawn Jennings, Mountain City, TN; sons Doug E. Slagle and wife Sherry, Mountain City, TN and David Scott Slagle and Pam Patrick, Damascus, VA; Sister Kathy Weaver and Carmen, Laurel Bloomery, TN; Brothers Robert Sweet and Cindy, Bristol, TN. and Ronnie Reed and Debbie, Damascus, VA; Grandchildren; Justin Trey Slagle, Allicia Danielle Reece, Chevin Richard Greene, and Brandon Charles Greene and several Nieces and Nephews. Funeral services for Mary Tester will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from the East Side Memory Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Carroll Hayworth officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 a.m.-7:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Private inurnment will be in Phillippi Cemetery.
