Mattie Elizabeth Howard Price, age 99, of 704 West Main Street, Mountain City, Tennessee. She passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at her residence. She was born on February 28, 1916 in Mountain City, Tennessee, to the late Robert Howard and Suzanne Smith Howard. She was a homemaker and loved to Quilt and work in her flower garden. She was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Price; grandson, Adam Price; Grand-son-in-law, Shane Matherly, 3 sisters, Lula Curd, Mae Woodard and Ellie Price. 4 brothers: Luther Howard, Roscoe Howard, Dave Howard and Rector Howard. Survivors include: One daughter, Lois Dunn and husband Bob, Mountain City, Tennessee. One son, Kenneth Price and wife Sandy of Mountain City, Tennessee. Adopted Grandson: Danny Poole, Wagner, South Carolina. One Granddaughter, Cristy Dunn of Mountain City, Tennessee. Great grandchildren-: Kyman, Andrew and Jackson Matherly.Special Niece: Teresa Howard. Special Friends: Sonny and Carolyn Roberts and Peggy Johnson. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel with Pastor Carrol Hayworth and Mr. Daniel Jones to officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Price Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andrew Matherly, Kyman Matherly, Jackson Matherly, Danny Poole, Jack Proffit, Rick Curd Morris Davis, and Donnie Fletcher. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence at 704 West Main Street.
