Maudie E Martin

Ms. Maudie Emma Hicks Martin, age 85, of Taylorsville, NC passed away at her residence on Thursday, September 27, 2012 in Taylorsville, NC. Ms. Martin was a homemaker. She was the daughter of John Hicks and Sophie Burchette Hicks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Wade Martin, three children, infant sister Mary Ratcliffe and a brother-in-law, Richard Martin. Survivors include: six daughters, Linda Hill Chandler and husband Terry, Lancaster, Ohio; Mary Straght and husband Ron, Navarre, Florida; Vera Perry and husband Arthur, Circleville, Ohio; Evelyn Martin, Taylorsville, NC; and Cheryl Jenkins and husband Charles, Mt. Vernon, Ohio; one son, George Martin, Circleville, Ohio. Seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2012 from the Eastside Memory Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Stidham officiating. Visitation prior to the funeral service, 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. from the Eastside Memory Chapel. Graveside service and interment will follow at the Sunset Memorial Park, Mountain City, Tennessee.
