Meada Virginia Odom, age 78, of 424 Possum Valley Road, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Burl and Maggie Roark. Ms. Odom was a member of Dyson Grove Baptist Church and her hobbies included quilting and fishing. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Monroe Odom; two sons: Wayne Odom and Billy Franklin Odom; and one brother, J. B. Roark. Survivors include: three daughters: Pamela Lay and husband David of Mountain City, Tennessee; Margaret Evans and husband Dwight of Love City, Florida; and Connie Sue Olivie of Madison, Florida; two sons: James Odom of Houston, Texas and Timmy Victor Odom of Sneed, Florida; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A service for Meada Virginia Odom will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2008 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow in Brown Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Richard Michaels, Buddy Kirby, Buck Kirby, Victor Lay, Wayne Gentry and David Lay. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Haddan and Dr. Julie Dunn. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. ? 12:00 p.m. prior to the service.
