Melvin Brown

Melvin Brown, age 81, of 112 Melvin Brown Lane, Mountain City, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2003 at the Johnson City Medical Center after a short illness. Mr. Brown was a native of Mountain City, and was born on November 18, 1921 to the late Wiley and Susan Morefield Brown. He was a member of Dyson Grove Baptist Church. He was a farmer and furniture worker. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Virginia Ann Brown and a son, Paul Brown. Survivors: Wife: Virginia Brown, of the home (5) Sons: Ray Brown, Oxford, PA Steve Brown, Mountain City, TN Jerry Brown, Mountain City, TN Wayne Brown, Bristol, TN Tim Brown, Mountain City, TN (3) Sisters: Ruth, Hassie, and Hazel (5) Brothers: Harvey Brown Jim Brown Roscoe Brown Mack Brown Clifford Brown (13) Grandchildren (10) Great Grandchildren Several Nieces and Nephews Hux-Lipford Funeral Home is in charge of the Arrangements. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at the Nave Cemetery with Rev. Leonard Fletcher to officiate. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
