Michael Benjamin Denne, 68, passed away on May 30, 2026, after a brief illness. Born on December 9, 1957, he was the son of the late Paul J. Denne and Margaret (Smith) Denne of Port Vue, Pennsylvania. He was also preceded in death by his brother, P.J. Denne.

Michael is survived by his brother Donald (Deborah) Denne of Monroeville, PA, and by his son Michael (Kathryn) Denne of Cincinnati, OH. He was a proud grandfather to Olivia and Elise Denne, who brought him great joy and with whom he created many amazing memories.

Michael grew up in the Pittsburgh area, graduating from South Allegheny High School Class of 1975. A gifted musician throughout his life, Michael expressed himself most fully through writing and performing his music. His songs, his voice, and his easy warmth made him a beloved presence in every community he joined. He was also an avid fisherman who found his greatest peace near the ocean or along a quiet stream.

Michael spent many years living near the beach in Fort Pierce, Florida, where he became a popular local musician and formed many lifelong friendships. Later, seeking cooler air and a slower pace, he moved to eastern Tennessee, where he built a cabin beside a stream and embraced a life close to nature.

Mike will be remembered for his quick wit, his creativity, his love of the outdoors, and the music he shared so generously with others.

“If I could write a song to describe my life, there is no doubt you would be the best verse in it” – Michael Denne

Honoring his wishes, no formal funeral will be planned. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, consider planting a tree in Mike’s memory or donations can be made to ORCA, a foundation focused on preserving the Indian River Lagoon.
