Michael "Mike" Todd Mason, age 38, of 1774 Little Dry Run, Butler Road, Butler, TN passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 4, 2015. He was born February 6, 1976 at Camp Pendleton, CA to Dennis Mason and Sherry Lee Mason. He has formerly worked for the Sheriff's Department of Josephine County, OR and also for the Kingsport Police Department. Mike was a member of Missionary Baptist Church in Grants Pass, OR but attended Bethany Baptist Church. He had a variety of interests that included riding motorcycles, crafts, crocheting and helping people. Survivors include: his father and step mother: Dennis and Linda Mason, of Butler, TN; his mother: Sherry Lee Mason of Leesburg, VA; two daughters: Shelia Marie Banner and husband Isaac of Johnson City, TN and Jennifer Leigh Mason of Butler, TN; one son: Sebastian Nelson of OR; grandmother: Margie Hopkins of Butler, TN; three sisters: Amanda Marie Prohaska and husband Jim of Asburn, VA; Kim Candy Campbell and husband Eugene of Roan Mountain, TN and Sandy Marie Mellon and husband Randy of NC; two brothers: Matthew Allen Mason of Asburn, VA and Daniel Wayne Branch of Butler, TN; special friends: Ed Vincent and Ed Conney and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Michael "Mike" Todd Mason will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2014 from Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Gale Hartley officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Honorary pallbearers will be officers and friends of Josephine County Sheriff's Department, Grants Pass, OR.
