Michael Robert Yates

Michael Robert Yates, age 56, passed away January 3rd, 2020 at his residence. Michael was born December 27, 1963 to the late Vestal Harrison Yates, and Judy Baird Roark. Michael was also preceded in death be his brothers, Lee Roark and Bobby Yates.   Those left to cherish his memories include, Mother, Judy Roark and Stepfather Lee L. Roark. Son, Nathaniel Dalton Yates. Sister Tammy Curd of Taylors Valley, VA. Brother, Brian Roark, Mountain City, TN. Grandchild, Skyler Dalton Yates, Stepmother Glenda Yates, Taylors Valley, VA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.   Funeral Service for Michael Yates will be held Sunday January 5, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the Eastside Chapel of Hux Lipford Funeral Home with Terry Baird to officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 pm. Burial will be at Phillippi Cemetery. Active Pallbearers: Austin Curd, Jamie Yates, Robby Berryhill, Ethan Roark, Brandon Roark, Deon Hensley, Jerry Cress and Steven Pardue, Hunter Buchanan, Zach Walton, and Alex Yates.
