Mildred Dunn, age 78, of 1661 Forge Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday morning, February 1, 2007 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was born on October 28, 1928, the daughter of the late James Herman Ward and Anna Mae Mast Ward. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clint Dunn, who passed away in 1996 and one sister, Marilyn Louise Dunn. Mildred was a former employee of the Johnson County School System. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and canning. She was a member of Nelsons Chapel Baptist Church and was also active in the WMU at church. Mildred was a member of the VFW Post #6908 Ladies Auxiliary. Mildred is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Bridgett Dunn of Mountain City, Tennessee; one sister, Mary Dunn of Mountain City, Tennessee; three grandchildren: Crystal Dunn, Jennifer Dunn and Jeffery Dunn and five great grandchildren: Brian Terrill, Trevor Terrill, Trinity Dunn, Serenity Dunn and Clint Dunn. Funeral Services for Mildred Dunn will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 4, 2007 from the Nelsons Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Lonnie Denny and Mr. Sam Icenhour to officiate. Music will be under the direction of Nelsons Chapel Baptist Church Choir. Graveside Services and Interment will follow from the McEwen Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: John Davis, Scott Mast, Robert Wilson, Kenneth Crowder, John Mast, Eugene Mast, Earl Mast, Ray Mast and Jim Beebe. Honorary Pallbearers are: Men and Women of Nelson's Chapel Baptist Church; Staff of ICU Ward of Sycamore Shoals Hospital; Staff of Johnson County Home Health and Dr. Susanne Shine and Staff of Johnson County Medical Group. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, prior to the Services, at the Church. At other times, friends may call at the residence, 1661 Forge Road, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.
