Moffett Stuart

Moffett Stuart of Mountain City, TN passed away June 18, 2009. Mr. Stuart was born June 3, 1919 to the late Amos and Mary Epps Stuart of Mayo, Virginia. Mr. Stuart was an active member of his church in Pennsylvania: a church usher, visiting the nursing home and had various other responsibilities. While living in Mountain City he attended New Hope Baptist Church. His hobbies included carpentry work, especially skilled at making trellises and flower boxes, working with flowers and he loved animals. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lou Stuart, and a sister, Pearl Scott.

 

Survivors include his wife, Betty Fay Graybeal Stuart, of the home; three brothers: Karey Stuart and A. W. Stuart, both of Richmond, VA and Clifton Stuart of Roxboro, NC; one sister, Callie Sharpe, of PA; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Doug Stidham and many others. He is also survived by his special cat, Tom.

 

A graveside service for Moffett Stuart will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 21, 2009 from Reece Cemetery with Rev. Doug Stidham officiating.
