Ms. Chelsie Lee Jones, age 95, of 919 Medical Park Drive (Mountain City Care Center), and formally of Fox Hollow Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2006 at the Johnson County Health Center. Ms. Chelsie was born on March 9, 1911 in Johnson County, Tennessee to the late King and Cora (Smith) Nelson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" Jones, who passed away in 1985; one granddaughter, Robin Lynn Smtih; three brothers and two sisters. Ms. Chelsie loved gardening, flowers and spending time with her family and friends. She had just celebrated her 95th birthday with a large celebration and gathering at the Mountain City Care Center. Ms. Chelsie was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Ms. Chelsie is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law: Patty and Jimmy Smith of Mountain City, TN, Shirley and Alton Sluder of Shady Valley, TN, Thelma and Jack Smith of Mountain City, TN, Helen and Steve Snyder of Mountain City, TN and Margaret and Skip Wills, also of Mountain City, TN; two sisters: Reba Wills and Danford Smith, both of Mountain City, TN; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one great grandchild that is due in May. Several nieces, nephews and many, many special friends also survive. Funeral Services for Ms. Chelsie Lee Jones will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2006 from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Jim Hutchinson to officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the Services. Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2006 from the Phillippi Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Grandsons and Sons-in-law. Family, Pallbearers and Friends are asked to assemble by 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, at the Funeral Home to go in procession to the cemetery. At other times, friends may call at the home of any of Ms. Jones daughters. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.
