Myrtle Janette Baker, of 1015 Spear Branch Road, Mountain City, Tenn. age 65, died Wednesday, January 7, 2004. Death is contributed to many complications due to her diabetes, eventually leading to lung, and heart failure. Mrs. Baker was born Myrtle Janette Young on November 6, 1938 to William and Pauline Shields Young. She was raised and graduated high school in Holly, Michigan, marrying James Robert Robinson in January of l959. Mr,.and Mrs. Robinson resided in Frenton, Michigan for over 16 years until his premature death in l975. Mrs. Robinson eventually met and married Jerry Lyle Baker also of Holly, Michigan in November 1976. Together they resided in both Nokomis, Florida, and Mountain City for the past 11 years. Mrs. Baker was continually busy teaching Sunday School to our children, and involved with numerous church groups and organizations throughout her entire life. Surviving are her husband: Jerry Lyle Baker; a son, Timothy James Robinson, of Northport, Florida; a daughter: Kimberly Vivian of Hampton, Virginia; an adopted son, Jeremey Robert Baker of Mountain City a brother, Ronald Thomas Young of Maryland; 3 grandchildren, a great grandchild on the Robinson side, 4 stepchildren: Robert, Kim, Jason and Jeff on the Baker side including 6 grandchildren along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends that will mourn her loss. There will be a 6:00 p. m. viewing at the Little Doe Baptist Church on Friday, January 9, 2004. A short service will follow afterwards, for friends and family to share memories and pay tribute to her life. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Henson Funeral Home in Mountain City. Following the service, Mrs. Baker will be transported to Fairview Cemetery to be laid to rest next to her first husband and family.
