Myrtle Neine Blevins, age 80, of 1632 Hwy 133, Shady Valley, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2005 at the Johnson City Medical Center, following an extended illness. A native of Shady Valley, she was born on September 28, 1924 to the late Jessie and Eliza Blevins Garland. In addition to her parents, Myrtle was preceded in death by one sister, Mada Scott; one brother, Cebert Garland and one granddaughter, Jessica Blevins. Myrtle enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She was a member of the Johnson County Home Demonstration Club and of Harmons Chapel Christian Church. Myrtle is survived by her husband of 58 years, Deward Blevins; two sons and daughters-in-law: Richard and Joyce Blevins of Shady Valley, Tennessee and Robert and Rose Blevins of Valdosta, Georgia; one sister, Gertie Price of Norton, Ohio; one brother, I.C. Garland of Shady Valley, Tennessee; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Myrtle Blevins will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, August 21, 2005 from the Hux-Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Jim Hutchinson to officiate. Music will be under the direction of the Harmons Chapel Christian Church Choir. Graveside Services and Interment will follow from the Blevins Cemetery, Shady Valley, Tennessee. Pallbearers will be: Brian Hutchinson, Lowell Hutchinson, Randy Hutchinson, Bob Lewis, Jeff Lewis, Huey Long and Stephen Long. The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 p.m. on Sunday, prior to Services, at the Funeral Home Chapel. At other times, friends may call at the residence, 1632 Hwy 133, Shady Valley, Tennessee 37688.
