Brown age 62, of 835 Vaughts Gap Road, Mountain City, TN passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born in Johnson County, TN on April 15, 1949 to the late Charlie D. Mains and Jane R. Dunn Mains. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson Devin Duperry. She was a homemaker and a member of the Southside Freewill Baptist Church. Her hobbies were reading her Bible and reading puzzle books. Survivors include her husband, Jerry B. Brown of the home; two daughters, Paulette Watkins Greensboro, NC and Tracy Brown of Mountain City, TN; sons, Gary Perkins and wife Missy of Mountain City , TN; Shawn " Bit " Brown and wife Holly of Mountain City, TN; Travis Brown and wife Devon of Mountain City, TN; Keith Brown and wife April of Mountain City, TN. Two sisters, Lisa Mains and Alice Robinson and husband Mike all of Greensboro, NC and one brother, David Mains and wife Sandy of Greensboro, NC. Twelve grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service for Mrs. Nancy L. Brown will be conducted on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 7 p.m. from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Hill and Rev. Keith Brown to officiate. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday prior to the funeral service. Graveside service will be conducted on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 2 p.m. from the Sunset Memorial park. Pallbearers will be Joe Woodard, Jon Stout, Dustin Maynard, Tom Icenhour, D.L. Brown, Brian Mains, and Josh Maynard. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnson County E.M.S., Johnson County Sheriffs Department, Michael Robinson, Weston Robinson, Kyle Watkins, Brandon Robinson, Kyle and Cole Watkins, Shane and Shawn Perkins.
