Nancy M. Osborne, age 100, of 770 Pine Mountain Road, Creston, North Carolina, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, December 12, 2006. She was born on July 1, 1906 in Creston, North Carolina, the daughter of the late David Thomas Mahala and Caroline Greer Mahala. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Conley Osborne; daughter, Goldie Stewart; sons: Teddy Osborne and Gene Osborne; grandchildren; Sharon Pierce, Davey Osborne, James Lewis; one sister, Edith Long and one brother, Ham Mahala. Nancy was a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church, North Carolina. She is survived by three daughters: Delcie Deyton of Morganton, N.C., Ina Mae Pierce of Millington, MD and Margaret Roark of Mountain City, TN; three sons: James Osborne, Thomas Osborne and Bill Osborne, all of Creston, N.C.; one sister, Collie Mast of Granit Falls, N.C.; 27 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren Funeral Services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 2006 from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. James Henson to officiate. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Jerry Horne. The family will receive friends from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, prior to the service. Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 15, 2006 from the Osborne Cemetery in North Carolina, with Rev. Scott Courtney to officiate. Pallbearers will be family and friends of Nancy. Honorary Pallbearers are: Dr. Floyd Barker and Staff, Hospice of Ashe County and Karen Clunn. At other times, friends may call at the residence.
