Nannie B. Grindstaff age 90, of 930 Stout Branch Road, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, August 19th 2004 at the Watauga County Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born December 1st 1913, in Brownwood, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late John D. Greer and Rebecca Mitchell Greer. In addition to her parents, Nannie was preceded in death by her husband Don L Grindstaff, who passed away in 1986; three brothers; Albert, Sanford, and Raymond Greer, and 4 sisters; Beulah Phillips, Edna Greer, Ollie Garretson, and Viola Baker. Nannie was a homemaker, and was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed Canning, Cooking, Traveling and Horses. Survivors include One Son: Danny Justin Grindstaff and wife Margaret, Mountain City; One Sister: Mattie Walker, Mountain City; Two Grandchildren: Justin Grindstaff and wife Amy, Bluff City, Tennessee; Tracy Holly and Husband Wes, Elizabethton, Tennessee; Three Great Grandchildren: Austin, Anisha, and Kendall Grindstaff, Bluff City, Tennessee; Special Friends: Rose Potter, Butler, Tennessee; Willie Dickens, Mountain City, Tennessee; Sandra Blevins, Butler Tennessee; Several Nieces and Nephews also Survive. Funeral services for Nannie Grindstaff will be conducted on Sunday, August 22nd, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Dan Little and Rev. Jim Norman to officiate. Committal Services will follow in the Sunset Mausoleum of Love. Pallbearers will be: Justin Grindstaff, Wes Holly, Jerry Grindstaff, Terry Matheson, Benny Grindstaff, Larry Taylor, Tommy Faulkner, and Joey Hardin.. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Billy Ray Pardue, R.C. Pardue, Bill Wilson, Blake Grindstaff, R.L. Bartlett, Joe Grindstaff, A.D. Grindstaff, Bill Vaughn, Lynn Greene, Benny Townsend, Joe Thomas, Paul Brown, Buford Lipford, Dr. John Whitlock, Nursing Staff of 3rd floor west wing, Watauga County Medical Center, Charlie Cutlip, Greg Thomas, Gerald Thomas, Dean Stout, DR. Jacob Haught, Staff of House Care Home Health. The Family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2004, at the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel. At other times, friends may call at the residence of her Son Danny, 928 Stouts Branch Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, at anytime.
