Naomi Hawkins, age 88, of 919 Medical Park Drive, Mountain City, and formerly of 626 Hospital Hill Road, Mountain City, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2004 at the Mountain City Care Center following an extended illness. A native of Middleburg, Virginia, she was born April 22, 1916 to the Late George Albert Pierson. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Edward Hawkins, a son, William Hawkins, 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Naomi lived several years in Maryland where she was a housecleaner and was a member of the Full Gospel Church in Baltimore. Survivors include: One daughter, Betty Reece and husband Herbert of Mountain City; One daughter-in-law, Peggy Hawkins of Mountain City; 14 Grandchildren, and one special grandson, Dalton Reece; 3 Great Grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Naomi Hawkins will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2004, from the Henson Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Jim Hutchinson to officiate. Music will be under the direction of the Liberty Christian Church Choir. Graveside services will follow in the Phillippi Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Tony Reece, Chris Reece, David Reece, Joshua Reece, Derrick Reece and Devon Reece. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Zack Reece, Sam Reece, Joey Webster and Benji Webster. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 11, 2004 at the Henson Funeral Home. At other times friends may call at the residence of her daughter Betty, 626 Hospital Hill Road, Mountain City.
