Nell Rhea Arnold, age 97, of 895 Sandy Road, Mountain City, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at the Mountain City Care Center. She was born January 11, 1918 in Johnson County to the late Stacy Tester and Alice Mains Tester. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Duff Arnold, a granddaughter; Stacy Anglemyer; as well as special friends Herman Timbs and Dean Stout. She was also preceded by five sisters; Commie McElyea, Zilda Mains, Blanche Morefield, Sally Blevins, and Lucy Arnold, as well as four brothers; George, Claude, Robert, and Jack Tester; also by her daughters in law; Virginia Arnold and Janice Arnold. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, a Red Cross Volunteer, as well as a volunteer at the old hospital. Survivors include; two daughters: Mary Bishop and husband Joe of Mountain City, Phyllis Anglemyer and husband Fred of Butler, TN; four sons: Mack Arnold, Sr. and wife JoAnn of Mountain City, Jack Arnold and wife Fern of Mountain City, TN, Johnny Arnold and wife Teresa of Mountain City, Jett Arnold of Mountain City; Eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Nell Arnold will be conducted on Sunday, April 19, 2015 from the Charles B. Hux Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. With Rev. Rick Thomason and Rev Harry Wills to officiate The family will receive friends Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. and also on Sunday from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service and entombment will follow from the Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum of Love. Active pallbearers will be Barry Bishop, Frank Bishop, Mack Arnold Jr., and Jeremiah Kirby, Ron Billiot, Tony Black, Mike Penley, and Kenneth Harry. Honorary pallbearers will be Bud Slemp, Ed Brown, Hugh Walker, Danny Herman, and Scott Guy. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence 895 Sandy Road or at the residence of her daughter Mary, 837 Sandy Road, Mountain City, TN.
