Nick Clampitt, age 66, of 342 Jackson Lane, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away Sunday, December 21st 2003 at his residence following a extended illness. Mr. Clampitt was born September 3rd 1937 in Franklin, North Carolina to the late Robert and Flora Mashburn, Clampitt. He was a member of the Windy Gap Baptist Church in Franklin, North Carolina and attended the Walnut Grove Baptist Church, in Mountain City. Mr. Clampitt was a self employed Truck Driver, who loved doing things for others. Survivors: Wife; Beulah Dunn, Clampitt, of the home. Daughter; Janice Ward, Charleston, South Carolina. Sister: Shirley Finger, and Husband Wayne, Waynesville, North Carolina. (2) Brothers; Bob Clampitt, and Wife Helen; Waynesville, North Carolina. Bill Clampitt, Mooresville, North Carolina. (4) Grandchildren: Several step Grandchildren Special Aunt, Hazel Gwaltney, Johnson City, Tennessee. Special Friends; J.D. Williams, Enka, North Carolina Sam Snipes, Ashville, North Carolina. Several Nieces, Nephews, Aunts and Uncles also survives . Hux-Lipford Funeral Home in charge of the Arrangements. Funeral services for; Nick Clampitt, will be conducted on Tuesday, December 23rd 2003 at 8:00 p.m. from the Hux -Lipford Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Frank Woods and Rev. Gary Norris to officiate. Music will be under the direction of the Laurel Creek Boys. Pallbearers will be Tony Clampitt, Bob Dunn, Buford Lipford, Dave Guinn, Curtis Blevins, Glenn Blevins, Jeff Potter, and Dave Forrester. Entombment Services will be conducted Wednesday Morning at 11:00 A.M. from the Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum of Love. The Family will receive friends from 6 until 7:45 p.m. at the Funeral Home Chapel prior to the service. Friends may call at the residence 342 Jackson Lane, Mountain City, Tennessee at anytime.
