N.J. 'Duby' Walker

March 29, 1940 — January 15, 2019

N.J. ‘Duby’ Walker, 78, of Shady Valley, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 15, 2019.  Duby was born in Mountain City, TN on March 29, 1940, to Charles Russell Walker and Nye Blackburn Walker.  Duby is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Delos Walker, and a sister Lenna Flora.

Duby was a life-long resident of Johnson County and a graduate of Johnson County High School.  Duby worked for Raytheon until he retired.  Retirement gave Duby more time to spend in his garden, which was one of his favorite things to pass the time.

Those left to cherish Duby’s memory are his loving wife of 58 years, Joyce Fletcher Walker; his daughter Connie Smith and husband Rick of Florida; his son Tim Walker of Texas; grandchildren Jason Smith and Ashley Cannon and husband D.J.; great-grandchild Railynn; his extended family Kamryn, Kayla, & Kyle Sluder and their parents Kenny and Kelli; several nieces and nephews; his close friend Jess Wagner.

Funeral Services for Duby will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019, at 1pm in the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 12pm - 1pm prior to the services.  Interment will follow services in the Shady Valley Memorial Gardens.  Rev. Eddie Porter and Rev. Richard Stout will officiate the services.  Pallbearers will be Raymond Eller, Wayne Eller, Kenneth Sluder, Kenny Sluder, Ron Jennings, Ralph Vanover, and Ken Garland.  Honorary pallbearers will be Lynn Mink, Lillard Blevins, Bill Seastrum, Jess Wagner and Reford Eller.
