Odas Watson

April 15, 1941 — January 29, 2020

Odas Watson, age 78, of Shady Valley, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at his residence.

He was born April 15, 1941 to the late Elbert John (E.J.) and Bonnie Main Watson. Odas was a United States Navy Veteran. He was a member of the Crandull Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Nell Pope and Katherine Blevins; five brothers: Herman Watson, C.J. Phillips, Marshal Phillips, Ed Phillips and John Watson. Odas was formerly employed with Sperry Corporation, Raytheon Corporation and Dana Corporation.

Survivors include: his wife, Annette Reece Watson, of the home; sons: Mike and Kent (Judy); daughters: Bonnie (Arthur), Kelly (Michael); granddaughters: Jaylen, Danielle, Sasha, Chloe, and Kaylee; a grandson, Brandon and a sister, Annie.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 3 pm at the Crandull Church of Christ, Shady Valley, Tennessee, with Tracy Dugger officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until 3 pm, prior to the service.  Graveside service accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard and interment will follow in the Blevins Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Michael Shepherd, Wayne Shepherd, Chris Watson, McGhetty Greer, Clifford Watson, Rex Bullins, Jim Mobray, and Benji Watson. Honorary Pallbearers are:  Buddy Reece, Tony Buck, Bob Tyree, and Van Neely.

A special thank you to the Veterans Administration Medical Center Staff at Mountain Home, Tennessee, the First Responders of Johnson County, and a very special thank you to the friends and neighbors for all the extra help and support.
