Oscar C. Jennings, age 77, of 615 Little Dry Run Road, Butler, Tennessee, passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 28, 2004 at his residence. He was born on April 15, 1927 in Johnson County to the late Walter Clyde and Maebell Cornett Jennings. In addition to his parents, Oscar was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Daisy Price Jennings, who passed away in 1999 and three brothers, Ralph, Sonny and Howard Jennings. He enjoyed reading the Bible and spending time with his family and friends. Oscar was a member of Dyson Grove Baptist Church. He is survived by one daughter, Linda Hickman of MD; five sons, Robert Jennings of PA, Mike Jennings of MD, Butch Jennings of Mtn. City, TN, Walter Jennings and Lindsey Jennings, both of Butler, TN; three sisters, Verleene Martin, Evelyn Farmer and Nora Mae Swift, all of Mtn. City, TN; seven brothers, Barney Jennings, Perry Jennings, Ben Jennings, Tony Jennings, all of Mtn. City, TN, Dewey Jennings of Westgrove, PA, Jeter Jennings of MD and Jim Jennings of Florida; twelve grandchildren, Butch, Cindy and Debbie Hickman, Lindsey "Junior", Jeffrey,Michelle, Kayla and Kimberly Jennings, Amy, Rachel, Jeff Jennings and Heather Smith and several great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Oscar will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 30, 2004 from the Dyson Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Leonard Fletcher to officiate. Music will be under the direction of the Church Choir and Larry and Brenda Barry. Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 from the Jennings Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Walter, Lindsey, Butch, Robert, Mike, Oscar, Lindsey Jr. and Jeff Jennings. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, prior to Services at the Church. At other times, friends may call at the residence of Walter Jennings, 615 Little Dry Run Road, Butler, Tennessee, 37640.
