Pamela “Pam” Ruth Cornett, age 66, of Mountain City, Tennessee (TN), passed away on November 21st, 2022 at The University of Tennessee (UT) Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. She was born in Mountain City, TN to the late Kenneth Allen Cornett and Selma Ruth Cornett on July 17th, 1956. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Bobby Lee Hurd, Jr., the father of her children, Marty Greenwell, and her dog, Taz. Pam was a devoted nurse, having dedicated her time to the emergency department of the Watauga Medical Center in Boone, North Carolina and the Northeast State Correctional Complex in Mountain City, TN. Her hobbies included rock hunting, thrifting, and spending time with her many friends. She was especially fond of all animals. Pam is survived by: partner, Steve Arnold, children, Missy Cornett and Brandon Greenwell, grandchildren, Matt (Jessica) Cornett and Mandy Cornett, and great-grandchildren, Addie Greer, Charlotte Fritts, and Emma Fritts. She is also survived by her siblings: Rick (Diane) Cornett, Deedee (Bob) Hurd, Jeff (Catherine) Cornett, and Malena (Danny) Jones. Other survivors include: her special friends, Carol McKinnis, Tammy Morefield, and Joe Lewis, and her dogs, Jasmine and Grunt. Funeral services for Pam Cornett will be conducted Saturday, November 26th, 2022 at 2 p.m. at First Freewill Baptist Church with Reverends Greg Poe and Teddy Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service and interment will follow at the Reece Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Steve Arnold, Brandon Greenwell, Matt Cornett, Rick Cornett, Jeff Cornett, Bob Hurd, and Josh Cornett. Honorary pallbearers are Danny Jones, Roy Bennett, Tommy Johnson, Daniel Winters, Ted Cooper, Danny Burton, Shawn McElyea, and David Fritts. The family of Pam Cornett would like to say a special thank you to the staff of the emergency department of Johnson County Community Hospital, Johnson County Emergency Medical Services, and intensive care unit of UT Medical Center, for the outstanding care they provided to Pam and her family during such a difficult time.
