Paul Harold Johnson, age 66, of 176 Claude Johnson Lane, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2005. He was born in Johnson County, Tennessee on June 1, 1939 to the late Claude and Lillian Price Johnson. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by three sisters. He was a member of the Sutherland Baptist Church of Creston, North Carolina. Paul loved spending time with his family and friends and playing the guitar. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Katie Sluder Johnson; one daughter, Linda Johnson Canter and husband Carter of Creston, North Carolina; two granddaughters: Allison Canter and Heather Canter, both of West Jefferson, North Carolina; four brothers: Thomas Johnson of Lenoir, North Carolina, Earl Johnson, Jim Johnson and Claude Johnson Jr., all of Mountain City, Tennessee; five sisters: Carolyn Rash of Todd, North Carolina, Helen Rash of Creston, North Carolina, Geneva Woodard of Mountain City, Tennessee, Sue Carroll of Hickory, North Carolina and Mary Carroll of Conover, North Carolina; special sister-in-law, Vada Lewis of Todd, North Carolina; special family friend, Bettie Moose and a host of other friends. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Paul H. Johnson will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2005 from the Hux-Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles McCoy and Rev. Denton Hart to officiate. Graveside Services and Interment will follow from the Sunset Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be: Ricky Carroll, Jimmy Carroll, Gary Woodard, Shane Woodard, Dean Miller and Ronnie Woodard. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2005 from the Hux-Tetrick Funeral Home.
