Paul H. Matheson, age 82, of 1594 Stouts Branch Road, Mountain City passed away Sunday, June 01,2003 in the Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. He was a native of Johnson County and was born January 01, 1921 to the late Ross H. Matheson and Ruth Stout Matheson. He was preceded in death by his wife Ella Jo Anderson-Matheson, one son Jerry Paul Matheson, three brothers Lester Matheson, Hugh Matheson and Bill Matheson. He was a farmer and retired CED of ASCS where he was employed for 37 years, a 32 degree Mason of Taylorsville Lodge 243 F & AM, a lifetime member of the American Legion and Sergeant of the US Army 825th Tank Destroyer Battalion in WW II. He was a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church. Matheson, age 82, of 1594 Stouts Branch Road, Mountain City will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday from the Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Mr. Jim Hutchinson, Rev Haskel Ingram, and Rev Karl Swift to officiate. Masonic service will follow funeral service. Music will be under the direction of Charlotte Lefler. Military Graveside Services will conducted by the Johnson County Honor Guard at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday from the Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be: Jerry Grindstaff, Danny Grindstaff, Leo Merideth, Roy Bartlett, AD Grindstaff, Bill Wilson, Dean Stout and Bill Shull Honorary Pallbearers will be: Gene T Cousins, Earl Shull, Claude Matheson, Pat Gilley, Burley Barry, Ray Young, Glenn Sams, Dr. Collier Jordan, Dr. Mark Chang, Dr. Harold Alison, Dr. Raina Sluder, Tommy Redmond, Scott Matheson, S.
