Pearl Smith

Pearl Smith, age 68, of 635 Laurel Road, Mountain City, TN passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 at her residence. She was born February 19, 1947 to the late Jade Smith and Ann Tester Smith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers: Ralph  and Tobe Smith and two sisters: Kate and Mary Frances Smith. Pearl attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her yard, cooking, and cleaning. She dearly loved her puppy Kojak.

She is survived by one brother, Paul Smith of the home and special friends: John L. Neatherly, Betty Slemp, and Buddy Slemp, all of Mountain City. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Norman officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside service and interment will follow from the Nave Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bud Slemp, Johnny Arnold, Jett Arnold, Howard Stout, Coleman Brown, Christopher Norman, Melvin Humphrey and Dan Spencer. Honorary pallbearers are D.L. Brown and Michael L. Stout.
