Peggy Hayes

Peggy Anita Hayes, 82, of Lenoir passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Hayes was born in Johnson County, TN to the late George Dowell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Swan Hayes; two brothers, and a sister. She was retired from Broyhill Furniture with 25 years if service and was faithful member of Heavenly Hope Baptist Church and loved her church family. Those left to cherish her memory are her step-daughters; Teresa Eller of Lenoir, Judy Reed of Taylorsville, Peggy Martin of Lenoir, and Susan Blizzard of Hickory; her sister-in-law, Shirley Dowell of Boone; and four grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Friday, March 13, 2015 at Heavenly Hope Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Bennie Greene officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the family cemetery in Mountain City, TN. The men of Heavenly Hope Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
