Peggy Yates-Lipford, age 62, of 234 Clarence Stout Lane, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2005 at the Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born in Johnson County, Tennessee on July 11, 1942 to the late Ernest and Lucile Lowe Eggers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Lipford, who passed away December 24, 2003. Peggy was a nurse for 25 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Church Choir. She was actively involved in NOMI and ACTION and enjoyed hand crafts, reading, gardening, singing and horseback riding. She was an Army Reserve M.A.S.H. Unit Veteran. Peggy loved and was loved by many. She is survived by two daughters: Tracy LineBerry and husband Steve of Draper, VA and Stacie Glaser and husband Brad of Willow, Alaska; two sisters: Dorothy "Dottie" Scruggs of Mountain City, TN and Linda Beckner and husband Sidney of Lithonia, Georgia; special brother, Bobby Eggers of Mountain City, TN; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Peggy Yates-Lipford will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 10, 2005 from the First Baptist Church with Rev. Norman Reece and Rev. Harry Wills to officiate. Music will be under the direction of Don Garrett. Graveside Services and Interment will follow from the Sunset Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be: Eric Campbell, Bobby Eggers, Jessica LineBerry, James Forrester, Chris McMillan and Sonny Roberts. Honorary Pallbearers are: Dr. Donald Tarr, Nurses of 5200 Station of the Johnson City Medical Center, Share and Care Sunday School Class, Nancy Wills, Ann Gore and Barbara Reece. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, prior to Services, at the Church. At other times, friends may call at 604 W. Main Street, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.
