Raleigh Wade Scott

Raleigh Wade Scott, age 79, of Shady Valley, Tenn. went to be with the Lord, Friday, August 15, 2003, at the Mountain City Care Center following a lengthy illness. He was a native of Johnson County and was born April 14, 1924 to the late Robert Winfield and Jennie Mae Wood Scott. He was retired from Lukens Steel in Pennsylvania, and was a World War II Veteran having served in the Navy. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby E. Scott, who died August 2002 and by (2) Sisters and (3) Brothers. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors: (1) Son: Mickey Scott, Downingtown, Pa. (2) Sisters: Irene Blevins, Shady Valley, Tenn. Glenna Barton and Husband Bill, of Shady Valley, Tenn. (2) Brothers: Robert Taylor Scott, Shady Valley, Tenn. Charles Alton Scott and Wife Dorothy, Shady Valley, Tenn. (2) Grandsons: Dustin and Danny Scott, of Pennsylvania Several Nieces and Nephews also survived Funeral services for Raleigh Wade Scott, age 79, of Shady Valley, Tenn. will be held 8:00 P. M. Sunday from the Chapel of the Henson Funeral Home with Rev.Eddie Porter and Mr. Jim Hutchinson to officiate. Music will be under the Direction of Don McCallister. Graveside services and Burial will be held 10:00 A. M. Monday from the Wood-Scott Cemetery Shady Valley, Tenn. Pallbearers will be: Junior Gentry, Carroll Jenkins, Bill Stevenson, Mike Williams, Kenneth Sluder, Howard Dean. Honorary Pallbearers: Dr. Floyd Barker, Dr. Susanne Shine and Staff of Mountain City Care Center. Masonic services will be held Sunday Evening following the Funeral service by the Taylorsville Masonic Lodge # 243 F. & A. M. The family will receive Friends from 7 till 8:00 P. M. Sunday at the Henson Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may also call at the Home of his sisters, Mrs Irene Blevins or Mrs Glenna Barton, Shady Valley, Tenn. at anytime.
