Ralph Mains

Ralph Mains, age 81, of 237 Eller Road, Mountain City, Tennessee went to his heavenly home on Saturday, August 30, 2012 following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was a member of the Mountain City Presbyterian Church. Ralph was a son of the late Will Mains and Stella Wagner Mains. He also was preceded by his first wife, Ruthy Phillips Mains, infant daughter, Kathy Mains, four brothers, Jim, Bill, Ed, and Clayton Mains. Two sisters, Edna Earl Davis, and Sue Wynn. A daughter, Roseann Canter, Granddaughter, Brenda Lowe Sloan, son in law David Reece and daughter in law, Barbara McFadden. He loved Yard Work and spending time with family. He worked in the Mushroom Industry in Pennsylvania, formally worked for the Town of Mountain City, Greever and Walsh, and the First Utility District of Carter County. Survivors include: Wife, Dorothy Flo Mains;Sons, Bill McFadden and wife Kathy, Mountain City, TN. Billy Mains and wife Alice, Colora, Md. Buck McFadden and wife Bobbie, Va. Bobby Mains and wife Sylvia, West Grove, Pa. Kenny Mains and wife Sharon, Mountain City, TN. Daughters, Wilma Carpenter and husband Ronnie, Hartwell, Ga. Peggy Reece, Mountain City, TN. Patricia Greer, and husband Curtis, Oxford, Pa, Sister Louise Eldreth, Kennett Square, Pa. 3 Granddaughters that he helped raise, Billie Jo McFadden and Alvaro Lenaies, Pam Mejia and husband Juan, Holly McFadden, Cesar Zaldivar, one son in law, Bob Canter, Trade, TN. 35 Grandkids, 63 Great Grandkids, 4 Great, Great, Grandkids and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Ralph Mains will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 2, 2012 from the Mountain City Presbyterian Church with Dr. Tom Peake and Rev Jim Swoager officiating. Graveside service and interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Saturday, September 1, 2012 from the Charles B.
