Ray Allen, Jr.

Ray Allen, Jr., age 68, of 918 Intermont Street, Damascus, VA passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2016 in Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, VA. He was born August 28, 1948 to the late Ray Allen, Sr. and Betty Latham Allen. Mr. Allen was a United States Marine veteran having served during the Vietnam era. He was a member of Wesley Chapel and enjoyed playing music.

Survivors include: his wife Marsha Roy of the home; two daughters: Arin Morley and Amber Morley; two sons: Adam Troy Allen Mayzes Sr. and Aric Morley; two sisters: Nancy Thompson and Ida May Allen; two brothers: Buddy Allen and Billy Allen; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and special friends Maureen Knowles, special cousin Daphne Meadows, and special aunts Bernice Howard and Grace Eller.

Funeral services for Ray Allen, Jr., will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2016 from the Charles B Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Morefield officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Military service accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard and interment will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery following the service. Pallbearers will be: Jessie McCoy, Charles Wallace, Austin Allen, Adam Troy Allen Mayzes Sr., Aric Morley, Robbie Carlson and Doyle Carlson.
