Rebecca Riffle

Rebecca Leona Trent Riffle, age 71, of Heritage Acres Apartments # 408, Mountain City, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 16, 2007 at the Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. Rebecca was born on June 9, 1935 in Damascus, Virginia to the late Samuel McKinnley Trent and Mary Elizabeth Callahan Trent. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Arden Riffle, who passed away in 1979, two sisters: Betty Callahan and Annie Trent and one brother, Vernie William Trent. Rebecca was a former employee of the Johnson County Memorial Hospital and a member of the Liberty Christian Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. She is survived by one son, Raymond Larry Riffle of Lenoir, North Carolina and one daughter, Brenda Riffle, of Mountain City, Tennessee; three sisters: Wilma Jean Sturgill, Laura Polly Trent and Mattie Heath; one brother, Jimmy Rogers Trent; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; special friend, Paul Stewart of Mountain City, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews also survive.. Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from Liberty Christian Church with Mr. Jim Hutchinson to officiate. Graveside Services and Interment will follow in the Philippi Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: selected Honorary Pallbearers will be: Dr. David Wiles, Dr. Perry, Dr. Donald Tar, Dr. Buddy Clayton, Dr. Steven Smith and Dr. Jim Shine. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 19, 2007, in the East Side Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home At other times friends may call at her residence Heritage Acres Apartment # 408 at anytime.
