Reeves Holman

Reeves Holman, age 95, of 2275 Pleasant Valley Road, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away Thursday, January 8th 2004 at the Mountain City Care Center following an extended illness. Mr. Holman was born May 8th 1908 in Todd, North Carolina to the late William Walter and Grace Graham Holman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Holman; a brother, Jake Holman; a sister, Viola Jones; 2 Grandsons, Eddie Keyser and Michael Roche; 2 Great Grandsons, Morris Ward and Daniel Crump. He was a member of the Zionville Baptist Church, where he had formally served as Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent. Mr. Holman was a retired farmer, who loved farming and cattle. He also carried the U.S. Mail during W.W. II. Survivors: (2) Daughters; Pauline Rominger, and Husband, Alfred, Banner Elk, North Carolina. Dare Lowe and Husband, John, Mountain City, Tennessee. (2) Sons; Alfred Holman and Wife, Judy, Mountain City, Tennessee. Joe Holman and Wife, Elaine, Baltimore, Maryland. (2) Sisters; Treva Boyles, Kernsville, North Carolina. Willa Gray Hayes, Winston Salem, North Carolina. (1) Brother; Clifton Holman; Edgewood, Maryland. (12) Grandchildren: (2) Step Grandchildren, (25) Great Grandchildren (7) Great, Great Grandchildren Several Nieces, Nephews, Aunts and Uncles also survives Hux-Lipford Funeral Home in charge of the Arrangements. Funeral services for Reeves Holman, will be conducted on Saturday, January 10th 2004 at 2:00 p.m. from the Zionville Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Johnson to officiate. Music will be under the direction of the Church Choir. Pallbearers will be Grandsons. Graveside Services will be conducted following the Funeral in the Zionville Baptist Church Cemetery. The Family will receive friends Friday Evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home.
