Rev. Cecil Glenn, age 90, of 247 Reece Avenue, Mountain City, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at the Watauga Medical Center. A native of Sugar Grove, North Carolina, he was born on August 5, 1914 to the late Conley and Bessie Osborne Glenn. Rev. Glenn was a retired minister and had served as Hospital Chaplain for several years in Vero Beach, Florida. After retirement, he continued to preach in several churches and minister to those in need. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Mountain City. Rev. Glenn was a World War II Merchant Marine Veteran. He is survived by his wife, Frances Glenn; three sons, Dr. Johnny Glenn and wife Frances of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Jerry Glenn and wife Mary of Littleton, Colorado and Barry Glenn and wife Terry Godbey of Maitland, Florida; two sisters, Ruby Greene and husband Hoye of Winter Beach, Florida and Juanita Shomaker and husband Lee of Banner Elk, North Carolina; five grandchildren; one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Rev. Cecil Glenn will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2005 from the First Baptist Church with Rev. Norman Reece and Pastor Harry Wills to officiate. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Don Garrett. Graveside Services and Entombment will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2005 from the Sunset Mausoleum of Love. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. prior to Services on Friday. At other times, friends may call at the residence after Thursday Afternoon, 247 Reece Avenue, Mountain City, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the CBM Ministries of East Tennessee, P.O. Box 188, Watauga, Tennessee 37694.
