Richard Dean Farthing

February 14, 1944 — April 7, 2024

Richard Dean Farthing, born on February 14, 1944, to Edgar and Jeanive Combs Farthing went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 7, 2024.  He enjoyed being outdoors and piddling with his trucks and motorcycles.  Riding with his family and friends and hanging out with his special dog, Cricket was his favorite pastimes.  He enjoyed gospel and bluegrass music.  He used to spend his weekends dancing and clogging at Iron Horse in Damascus.  Richard worked hard all his life and even in retirement from Summers & Taylor construction Company, he was always taking on local jobs with dozing.  There wasn't anything he couldn't fix.  He loved to teach his grandchildren new things.

In addition to his parents and first wife, Linda Sue Stansberry Farthing, Richard  was proceeded in death by his brothers, Darrell Farthing and Dwight Farthing; sister, Marie Harmon and great-granddaughter, Kenzie LeeAnn Arnold.

Those left to honor his memory are his current wife, Linda Olen Farthing; son, Jeffrey Farthing; daughter, Lisa and late husband Stacy Miller, daughter, Tammy Farthing; brother, Victor Farthing and wife Marilyn; sister, Linda Bunton; grandsons, Jason and wife Amanda Lambert, Ray and wife Kyrie Lambert and Dustin Miller and granddaughter, Kayla Lambert.  He loved his great-grandchildren, Lorelei Axton, Draven Lambert, December Lambert, Brayden Arnold, Kairi Arnold, Emma-Sue Lambert and Jasmine "Rayne" Lambert, and loved watching them grow.

Pall bearers will be Ray Lambert, Jason Lambert, Draven Lambert, Brayden Arnold, Dustin Miller and Reeves Snyder.
