Richard Macy, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on December 21, 2025, at the age of 74. He was born on January 17, 1951 in Borden, Indiana.
His service to his country in the United States Army, where he achieved the rank of Specialist 4 before being honorably discharged, was a point of pride for Richard. This dedication to service extended beyond the military, as he devoted himself to his family.
Richard had a passion for building tiny homes, a pursuit that often showcased his creativity and skill. He found joy in fishing, racing, and working on old cars,
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Phyllis Macy, and his daughter, Melinda Macy, his step-daughters, Amy Meade and Brittany Lewis; son, Richard Macy Jr.; and step-son, Daniel Johnson; his sister, Judy McKinny and her husband Mack,his brother, Reid Macy and his wife Becky; his grandchildren, Andria Allen (Hunter), Riley Bumgardner, Bella Macy, Gavin Wilson, Hailey Johnson, Sam Arnold, and Harper and Hudson Lewis. Additionally, he is survived by six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews who will carry forward his memory.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Chester F. Macy and Lelia B. Durham Macy, as well as his sister, Katherine Underhill, and brothers, Bob Macy and Ray Macy. Richard's life was one filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
