Rickey Greer, age 42, of Mountain City, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at the Johnson County Community Hospital. He was the son Dorothy Wallace Woodby and the late Fred M. Greer. Mr. Greer was a former employee of National Textiles and he attended Corinth Baptist Church. Mr. Greer was an avid NASCAR fan and a member of the NRA. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the 82nd Airborne in Granada. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother: Bronson Triplett; paternal grandparents: Callie and Kyler Greer; and one uncle: Ikie Wallace.

Survivors include: his wife, Marrena Fentress Greer, of the home; one daughter: Tea` Nichole Greer of the home; mother: Dorothy Wallace Woodby of London, Kentucky; three sisters: Carrie Greer Shupe and husband Larry of New Market, Tennessee; Michaelana Brown and husband Bryan of London, Kentucky; and Susie Greer of Johnson City, Tennessee; one brother: Fred McKinley Greer, Jr. of Mountain City, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews.

Military graveside services accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2008 in the Eastridge Cemetery with Rev. Billy Morefield officiating. Active pallbearers will be Ralph Eastridge, Michael Greer, Larry Shupe, Victor Carlson, David Garland and Randy Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be Frankie Arnold, Kim Greer and Jimmy Garr.
