Rita King Mckeown

Rita King McKeown, age 61, of 233 Pedro Shoun Lane, Lot 49, Mountain City, passed away on Saturday, June 5th, 2004 at her home after a lengthy illness. A native of Northfork, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Paul King and Louise Cunningham King of the Pleasant Valley community in Mountain City. Rita was a homemaker, of the Methodist faith and loved her grandchildren. Surviving in addition to her mother is her companion, Kendall McKeown of the home; her daughter, Shannon Brown of Elizabethton; her son, Ricky McKeown and wife, Lisa, of Mountain City; three sisters: Anita Huber of Nebraska, Phyllis Lowe of Charlotte, NC and Mary King of Mountain City; two brothers: Sonny King and Michael King, both of Mountain City; three grandchildren: Roger Brown, Courtney McKeown and Christopher Brown. Several nieces and nephews and her special friend, Granny Dot also survive. Funeral services for Rita will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday, June 8th, from the chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home. Rev. David Cunningham will officiate. Graveside services will be held at the Acre Field Cemetery following the services. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p. m. Monday from Hux-Lipford Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home of her mother, Louise King at 285 Blant Road, Mountain City.
