Robert C. "Bob" Kimble, Jr., age 73, of 326 WW Vaught Lane, Mountain City, TN passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning, July 30, 2009 at his residence. He was the son of the late Robert Carlisle Kimble, Sr. and Dorothy Hawkins Kimble Traywick. Robert and Belinda, his wife of nearly 47 years, have been residents of Johnson County since November 1998. He was the chief of engineering for the space shuttle at Kennedy Space Center, Titusville, Florida and worked for NASA for 28 years before retiring in January 1993 . Robert was also a U. S. Army Veteran honorably discharged in 1961. He truly loved woodworking as a hobby. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters.
Survivors include: his wife, Belinda James Kimble, of the home; one daughter: Kristofer Leigh Kimble and her companion Carl R. Williams, of Melbourne Beach, FL; one son: Nathaniel Hawkins Kimble of Gainesville, FL; two sisters: Cornelia Rozmajzl of Omaha, NE and Roberta Kimble of Long Beach, CA; one brother: Rees Hawkins Kimble of Seattle, WA; two beautiful granddaughters: Hannah Josylyn Kimble-Williams and
Chloe Gemma Kimble-Williams of Melbourne Beach, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date in Florida.
