Robert J. Church age 64 of 1728 South Wind Drive, Nashville and also of Butler passed away on Friday March 16, 2012 in Nashville, TN. He was the son of the late David Church and Lois Church. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He was retired from Averitt Express as a truck driver. His hobbies were working on cars, working around the house on projects and flying lessons. He was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church in Nashville, TN and attended Sink Valley Baptist Church when in Johnson County. He is survived by his wife, Helen Potter Church of Nashville, TN; one son, Christopher and wife Amber of Nashville, TN; one brother, John Henry Church of Mountain City, TN; Seven grandchildren, Tyler Wilson, Gavin Lane, Brandon Boyles, Cayle Boyles, Jackie Lee Boyles, Donald Gene Lane and Daris Kennebrew. Sisters-In-Law, Penny Perkins, Edith Wilson, and Judy Pass and brothers-in-law, Donnie Potter, Frank Perkins, Harold Wilson and Danny Pass. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Robert J. Church will be conducted on Tuesday evening March 20, 2012 at 8 p.m. in the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of the Hux Lipford funeral home with Rev. Harvey White to officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 till 8 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service and burial will be on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 10 a.m. from Dot Potter Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Travis Wilson, Waco Perkins, Frank Perkins, Danny Pass, Danny Pass Jr. Donald Gene Lane, Harold Wilson, David Church, Russell Lewis, and Donnie Potter. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alive Hospice.Org, 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN. For additional information you may call our recorded obituary line at 727-6842.
