Robert J. Osborne

Robert J. Osborne, age 86, of 341 Ivy Branch Road, Creston, NC passed away Saturday March 1, 2014 at the Glenbridge Health and Rehabilitation Center Boone, NC. He was born in Ashe County, NC. On September 1, 1928 to the late Kelly Emmerson Osborne and Dessie Roark Osborne. He was a member of the Rock Creek Baptist Church where he was a deacon and Sunday School Teacher. His hobbies included Reading. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Ray, Dwight, Rex, and Harry Lee Osborne and four sisters: Beatrice Price, Astor Ivey, Lena Ball, and Queen Grubb. Survivors include: one sister, Iva Lee Hodge, Mountain City, TN; Special Nephew Edwin Price and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Osborne will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014 from the Rock Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Rector Henson and Rev. Anthony Roark officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service will follow from the Osborne Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.
