Robert Shelton Simcox

Robert Shelton "Elderberry" Simcox, age 82 of Mountain City, TN passed away on Monday July 2, 2012 at his residence. Shelton was born on February 10, 1930 in Mountain City, TN. He was the son of the late Tom and Nettie Greene Simcox. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Dorothy Fritts and Mammie Marion. Shelton was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a graduate of Georgia Tech. Elderberry loved golf , his family and friends and most of all his grandchildren. Shelton is survived by his son Dirk Simcox and wife Mischelle of Mountain City, TN, his daughter Tracy Lewis and husband Derrick of Savannah, GA. Three grandchildren Jessica Lewis, Dylan and Connor Simcox. His sisters Juanita Simcox of Mountain City, TN, Ruth Norris of Greensboro, NC. One brother Rev. Bruce Simcox Upon his wishes Mr. Simcox will be cremated and there will be no formal services held. His family will receive friends at the residence of his son Dirk Simcox at 2729 Crackers Neck Road at anytime. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity, The First Tee, Tri-City Chapter, Tennessee Golf Foundation, 10431 Wallace Alley Street Kingsport, TN, 37683.
